Terms of service

These draft terms describe how Sonar is meant to be used. They will be completed and reviewed by legal counsel before they take effect.

Draft, pending legal review

This document is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, is not in force yet, and will change. It describes the product as it is built today.

Who we are

Sonar is currently an invite-only service provided by the team that operates it at usesonarnow.com (“we”). The legal entity behind it will be named here before Sonar is offered to the public. Until then, reach us through the person who invited you.

The service

Sonar crawls websites, scores them on SEO, AEO and GEO, proposes changes, applies the changes your policy allows through the connections you set up (such as an edge worker, a WordPress plugin or a publishing platform), and measures their impact. The free public scan is provided as is, and its results are indicative.

Accounts

You sign in with a one-time email link; there is no password. Owners and operators protect sensitive actions with a second factor. You are responsible for the people you invite to your workspace and the roles you give them.

Your sites

Connect only sites you own or are authorized to manage. By connecting a site, you confirm that you may let Sonar read its data and, where your policy allows, change it.

Changes to your site

Sonar changes your site only as your policy allows. You can review, approve, reject and roll back changes, and stop all changes with the kill switch. You remain responsible for what is published on your site.

Outreach from your mailbox

If you connect a Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox, you authorize Sonar to send, in your name, the outreach emails your policy allows. Replies go to a Sonar reply address so Sonar can honour opt-outs and stop follow-ups, and are forwarded to your mailbox; Sonar never reads your mailbox. People who ask not to be contacted are added to a permanent do-not-contact list. You remain responsible for outreach sent from your mailbox complying with the law that applies to you.

Acceptable use

Do not use Sonar to scan sites you may not scan, to overload any site, to break the law, or to try to reach other customers' data.

Measurements are estimates

Scores, citation shares and impact readouts are statistical estimates with stated uncertainty. They are not guarantees of rankings, traffic or revenue.

Fees

Sonar is not sold today, and invited workspaces pay no fees. If that changes, prices and payment terms will be published and must be accepted before they apply to you.

Liability

Sonar is provided as is during this invite-only stage. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for lost traffic, rankings or revenue. You remain responsible for the changes you approve and for what is published on your site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending the service

You can stop using Sonar at any time. A workspace owner can disconnect sites or close the workspace from Settings; closing exports the workspace data for download and deletes it 30 days later, as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend access that breaks these terms and will tell you why when we can.

Governing law

The governing law and the courts that decide disputes will be stated here after legal review. Until then, nothing in this draft takes away rights you have under the law that applies to you.

Changes to these terms

We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Sonar.
